Greetings Cadet Nation!
I hope that everyone had a restful Labor Day weekend. I think I speak for everyone when I say that the cooler temperatures and moments of rain were QUITE appreciated!
September 6 is the first Intervention Friday for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Students that have been tagged for intervention have been notified already. Students that have been tagged for intervention are required to attend on these dates per Texas Education Code Chapter §25.085(d), which says: “Compulsory attendance applies to certain extended-year programs, tutorial classes, accelerated reading, accelerated instruction, and basic skills programs.”
ANY student is eligible to attend classes on Intervention Fridays even if they are not tagged. We are pleased to offer a number of enrichment and extracurricular activities on each of our campuses throughout the year. If you would like more information regarding the optional enrichment opportunities available on Fridays, please contact your student's administrator.
Transportation and lunch/breakfast services are available for all of our students on these Fridays. There will be slight alterations to our bus services on these dates, and those plans will be released in the coming days. A complete copy of this year's instructional calendar (including all of our intervention dates) can be found at this link: https://5il.co/2r8xx
We are now fully immersed in the 2024 - 2025 school year! It has been wonderful to see and hear all about the exciting lessons that are going on in each of our classrooms throughout the district. It was great to see so many students participate in dress up days to show their school spirit last week, and the energy at the high school's pep rally and last Friday's football game versus Little River Academy was ELECTRIFYING! I cannot wait to continue building on this momentum throughout the year - it is truly a GREAT day to be a Cadet!
Please take a moment to click through each of our campus newsletters. There are exciting things going on all throughout the district; you don't want to miss out!
