Happy December!
It is hard to believe we are in the final month of 2024. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving with family and friends. Things will move swiftly over the next three weeks as we get closer to the winter holiday break. Over the next few weeks, there are concerts, literacy nights, class parties, food drives, and holiday dress-up days. Please view the newsletters of the campuses your children attend to ensure you don’t miss anything!
The holiday events start with the Lacy Lakeview Christmas parade on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 6:00. The parade route will begin at the Mac Peoples Stadium parking lot and end at Lacy Lakeview Veteran’s Park. While at the park, community members can shop at the various vendors and enjoy the tasty treats of area food trucks while the children enjoy the bounce house and take pictures with Santa. The Lacy Lakeview Christmas tree lighting occurs during the park celebration. This is a fantastic opportunity to gather as a community to celebrate the holiday season.
However, before we move into the full holiday mode, our high school students will take STAAR end-of-course retake tests this week. This is only for students who were unsuccessful in the previous STAAR administrations in English 1, English 2, Biology, Algebra 1, or US History. Please be patient if you need to contact the high school campus or a specific staff member, as their schedules and routines may be adjusted to meet the needs of the required testing environment. The best means to contact a campus staff member is by email during this time.
This Friday is the final intervention day of the first semester. If your student is required to attend the final intervention day of the semester, you will be notified by the campus administrative staff.
Have a great week, Cadets!
