Superintendent's Update

Greetings Cadets!

This week is sure to be eventful! We are getting rain today and this will drop our temperatures to what true fall temperatures feel like!

On Tuesday, November 5th, our Connally Theatre students will open their fall production, Anatomy of Gray. There are three opportunities to come see our students present this show:

  • Tuesday, November 5th at 6:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday, November 6th at 6:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, November 9th at 7:30 p.m.

  • Sunday, November 10th at 12:30 p.m.

Ticket prices are $2 per person at the door. When you purchase a ticket, the funds are used to pay the licensing fee for the school to put on the production and to raise funds for costuming, sets, and other theatre needs as we enter the spring One Act Play season. I encourage everyone to come see our talented actors and actresses in action!

Also on Tuesday, our Lady Cadets will host their basketball home opener against Mexia. The JV team will begin at 5:00 and the varsity team will tip-off at 6:15. I encourage the Connally community to come out to cheer on our Lady Cadets as the open their season.

On Friday, the Cadet football team will play their final game of the district schedule against the Gatesville Hornets. This is also Senior Night for our seniors who participate in football and all other fall activities and organizations supporting the football season. The senior member and their families will be introduced before the 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

Also, with Christmas right around the corner, some of our families may wonder how they will provide Christmas gifts for their children. It is a reality that many people live with on an annual basis. Connally ISD is fortunate to partner with Shepherd’s Heart to not only provide free food to families in our community with the monthly food distributions, but they are now offering assistance to families who may need help with providing toys for children in need during the holiday season. If you or someone you know needs assistance, I encourage you to register for assistance through the Shepherd’s Heart website, http://www.shepherdsheartpantry.org/, click on Toys, and complete the sign-up application.

This is the time of year when many celebrations and events occur on the various campuses over the next two months. We will be hosting Thanksgiving meals, turkey trots, concerts, holiday parties and other exciting events that you don’t want to miss. Please take the time to visit the newsletter of each campus to ensure you don’t miss anything you want to be a part of!

Have a great week!
