Hello Cadets!
We hope all of you could get out and enjoy the cooler weather over the weekend. It was great to walk out the door and not instantly break into a sweat! However, please remember that we live in Texas, and summer is not officially over!
Last week, our primary campus opened the doors for a grandparent picnic, a heartwarming event that truly showcased the strong bonds within our school community. The sight of so many visitors on campus, enjoying lunch with their grandchildren, was a testament to the warmth and inclusivity of our school. The positive comments they shared about the school, students, and staff filled us with pride. We extend a special thank you to the cafeteria staff for their tireless efforts in making this day a resounding success.
Now that the school year is in full swing, it is time to remind everyone to pay special attention to the instructional calendar. Last Friday, we held our first intervention Friday. Students in attendance worked on skills to help them master their grade-level curriculum. As the year progresses and additional student learning data is reviewed, the list of students required to attend may change. The intervention days are indicated in green on the instructional calendar. You will also notice that this Friday is highlighted in gray. This means all campuses will be closed.
This Friday, Mac Peoples Stadium will host another home football game. The Connally Cadets will kick off against the Grandview Zebras at 7:00 p.m., and the gates will open at 6:00 p.m. As a reminder, students in grades eight and below must have a parent or guardian to enter the stadium. Students are expected to be seated in the stands during the game. If a situation needs an administrator's attention, please contact one. You will find an administrator at the bottom of the stands near the gates leading onto the track at the north and south end of the stadium, under the bleachers at the back gate, or near the restroom and concession areas. You can also contact a police officer on duty to assist with the situation or locate an administrator. We aim for everyone to enjoy the football game and a safe and orderly environment.
We would also like to remind our community's senior citizens that they can attend all home and District 23-AAAA events free of charge. Please pick up your senior citizen pass by the Connally ISD administration building.
If you have not already done so, take a moment to step outside and enjoy the cooler weather while it is here. It is not often that the high is in the 80s during September!
