Happy Monday, Cadets!
I hope that everyone has managed to stay dry and warm in spite of the recent nasty weather! I had hoped that we had fully moved past the cool weather, but it seems that Mother Nature had different plans! Fortunately, our teachers and students have not missed a beat - I couldn’t help but smile as I saw students eagerly run to the playground today, full of energy and excitement, bundled up in jackets!
Please take a moment to review this year’s Instructional Calendar. You will note that all of our students should be in attendance EVERY DAY this week. Our teachers are working hard to help our students be polished and prepared for their upcoming STAAR and EOC exams. The week of April 21 to April 25 will also be a full week. Luckily, we have every Friday off in May!
Even though we are approaching the end of the school year, our Cadets are still participating in a wide variety of extracurricular activities. Our baseball and softball teams have games against Lorena this week, and students who qualified for the Area Track Meet will travel to Jarrell on Wednesday in hopes of qualifying for the regional competition. The Connally High School Prom will be held on Saturday, April 12, at Lee Lockwood Library and Museum. Mrs. Gloeckner and the prom committee have worked tirelessly all year long to make this night a memorable experience for each of our students. It will be a magical night!
Connally ISD will host an in-house job fair on Monday, April 14 from 5:30 to 7:00 at Connally High School. If you or someone you know is interested in a job at Connally ISD, I recommend that you stop by. There will be administrators from each of our campuses and departments available to answer any questions that you might have and conduct on site interviews!
Connally ISD is eager to work with the newly revived Connally Cadet Education Foundation! The foundation, under the leadership of Linda Peoples Lindsey (Class of 1981), Dr. Chandai Phillips (Class of 1981), and Coach Clifford Anderson (Class of 1976), is excited to work towards a number of goals, including:
Providing opportunities for Connally Alumni to reconnect and socialize
Working to enhance Cadet Pride throughout our community
Offer teachers classroom grants
Offer student clubs and organizations additional grants and funds
Offer scholarships to graduating seniors (including students entering trade schools)
The Education Foundation is kicking off an alumni COMMUNITY CHALLENGE! Between now and May 5, 2025, the foundation is hoping to gather contact information for as many Cadet Alumni as possible! The push to gather contact information coincides with the organization’s first fundraising drive - the goal is for each CHS graduating class to raise $1000.00 in funds to help support the aforementioned initiatives! If you’re interested in sharing contact information or donating to the education foundation, contact Linda Peoples Lindsey via email at linda.lindsey1@yahoo.com or phone at (830) 591 - 8212.

The Education Foundation is excited to host an alumni picnic in May! The picnic is tentatively scheduled for May 10 at the football field. Additional information will be shared as it is available.
The Connally ISD School Health Advisory Council will meet on Tuesday, April 8 at 4:00 PM at the Connally ISD Administration Building. The district’s wellness plan will be discussed in this meeting. Have a great week!
