Greetings Connally families!
Today is the day we honor and recognize the brave men and women who served in our nation's military. Their sacrifices have ensured the freedoms we hold dear, and we owe them a debt of gratitude that words cannot fully express.
At Connally ISD, we have a special connection to the United States Air Force, a branch that has played a pivotal role in our community’s history. Our school district is named after the James Connally Air Force Base, which once occupied the area that is now home to TSTC. The base was named in honor of Colonel James T. Connally, a hero from Central Texas who tragically lost his life during World War II in Japan.
As a tribute to our military ties, Connally ISD continues to support the Air Force through an active Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program. I’d like to thank Colonel Ray Mathern and Master Sergeant John Christian for their outstanding leadership of our JROTC cadets. They teach the next generation of leaders and foster a deep sense of discipline, service, and respect in our students.
Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all veterans, whether you served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard. Your dedication and courage have shaped the freedoms we enjoy every day. Thank you for your service.
This week, our Connally Cadet football team enters the first round of playoffs. Our Cadets will play the Bellville Brahamas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14th. They will play at Merrill Green Stadium, 3450 Oak Ridge Drive in Bryan, Texas. The Cadets will be the home team. Tickets are $7 per person. We will continue to share additional information as it becomes available. We want to fill the stands to cheers for our Cadets!
The Lady Cadets basketball teams have been working hard to prepare for their season. The junior high teams will play at Gatesville tonight beginning at 5:00 p.m. Lady Cadets will play Tuesday, November 12th, at Malakoff and again on Friday, November 15th, against Fairfield at 5:00 p.m.
Please read the newsletter for the campus your student(s) attend. We have several events and important dates between now and the end of the semester!
Have a great week, Cadets!
