Greetings Cadet Nation!
It is hard to believe, but we are entering the third week of school! It is the start of the school year. The students have settled into their schedules and school routines. To stay current on what is happening on your students’ campuses, please take a moment to scroll past my newsletter to the link to each campus newsletter. Simply click on the name of the campus to open the newsletter. The campus newsletters are filled with information and upcoming events on the campus. We strive to keep our parents and guardians informed throughout the school year.
The new math curriculum, a major change in grades Kindergarten through 8th, is designed to be highly engaging and hands-on. Students practice fluency, concept development, and application daily. We believe that families are not just spectators but important partners in the learning process. Therefore, we want your feedback on math as we begin the implementation of the new math curriculum. Please click on this link and answer the four questions: https://forms.gle/wvEYThRFwmnDXZkh9
Tonight is our annual Meet the Cadets at Mac Peoples stadium, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Our secondary students participating in a fall event will be introduced to our community. If you cannot make it tonight, mark your calendar for the first varsity home football game this Friday at 7:00. To ensure your spot, all tickets can be conveniently purchased in advance by visiting www.cadetathletics.org under the tickets link. You can also still purchase reserved seating tickets at the administration building. As a reminder, students in grades K-8 must have a parent or guardian with them to enter and remain in the stadium unless they are a member of an organized group whose sponsor is accountable for them. We ask that all spectators be seated in the stands during the game to reduce the congestion in and around the restrooms and concession stand area.
Before the annual tradition of Meet the Cadets, the Connally ISD school board will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. to share the tax rate for the upcoming year. Following the public hearing, they will conduct a special meeting to adopt the 2024-2025 school year budget. The next regular meeting will be conducted on Monday, September 23rd, at 6:30 p.m.
This weekend is a three-day weekend, with no school on Monday due to the Labor Day holiday. Next week, we will begin our Friday intervention schedule, a dedicated time for additional academic support and enrichment. Friday, September 6th, will be the first intervention Friday. Students required to attend will receive notification this week from their campus.
Please scroll down and check out our campus newsletter to ensure you are current on campus news and events!
Have a wonderful week, Cadets!
