Greetings Cadet Families!
It is hard to believe that we are entering the month of April this week and will soon be counting down the days until the end of the school year! However, we still have much to do in the next two months. The instructional calendar changes during April. This Friday will be the final intervention day for the year. Beginning next week, all students must attend school every Friday except Good Friday, April 18th. This allows additional days for students to take the STAAR tests at the various grade levels and the MAP assessment to measure the growth of our students from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. We are excited to see the progress our students have made!
Tonight, our junior high track athletes will compete in the district track meet at our own Mac Peoples stadium. The JV and varsity track teams will compete in the district meet at Gatesville on Wednesday and Thursday. The field events and preliminary heats will be on Wednesday, with the finals on Thursday.
After rain delays and rescheduling with the hope of improving the home field conditions, the baseball and softball teams had to play their Friday games on Saturday at Robinson. These teams will continue district play against the La Vega Pirates this week. The games will be played at home on Tuesday and at La Vega on Friday.
The Cadet Athletic Booster Club's meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16th, at 6:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room in the field house. All parents of athletes at all grade levels and sports are encouraged to attend.
Connally ISD will host a job fair at Connally High School on Monday, April 14th, from 5:30 to 7:00. If you or someone you know is interested in a position with our district, please invite them to attend. Administrators from every campus, cafeteria, transportation, and custodial will screen applicants for available positions.
Please take a moment to review the campus newsletters. They always contain information and important dates that we don’t want you to miss!
Have a great week Cadets!
