Principal's Update:

Happy first week of March!! We know that Spring time can be busy with sports and other extracurricular activities, we ask that you make sure your child still gets lots of sleep and is on time for school!

As a reminder, Thursday is an early release day. Dismissal will begin at 11:45am and there is NO school on Friday!! Please have a safe and fun Spring Break March 10-14th!

There are three intervention Fridays left of the school year. If your child received a letter or the classroom teacher has reached out to you, it is extremely important that students are attending these days. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you are not sure if your child should attend on the following days:

March 21st

March 28th

April 4th

Flu Season is Here!

The peak of the cold and flu season is upon us. To prevent widespread flu in the school, we recommend that your child stay home from school if experiencing flu or cold symptoms.

To decide whether or not to send your child to school, please consider the following guidelines:

Monitor your child for any of the following symptoms:

Very stuffy or runny nose and/or cough
Mild sore throat (no fever, no known exposure to strep)
Headache
Mild stomach ache

Definitely keep your child at home for treatment and observation if they have any of these symptoms:

Fever (greater than 100 degrees by mouth--your child may return to school only after their temperature has been consistently below 100 degrees by mouth for a minimum of 24 hours without the use of medication)
Vomiting (even once)
Diarrhea
Chills and
fatigue with discomfort, weakness, or muscle aches
Frequent congested (wet) or croupy cough

To help prevent the flu and other colds, teach your children good hygiene habits:

Wash hands frequently with soap and use hand sanitizer when they do not have access to a sink to wash their hands
Do not touch eyes, nose, or mouth
Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing
Use a tissue to blow their nose followed by washing hands after throwing it away
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Colds are the most contagious during the first 48 hours. A child who has a fever should remain at home until "fever free" for a minimum of 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
