Connally Independent School District

Connally Primary School Update

Week of 2/24/2025 - 2/28/2025

Principal's Update:

Welcome to the last week of February!

Please join us tomorrow night for Family Math Night! Shop the book fair, create math games to take home, play math games with your family, view your student's data folder, and enjoy ice cream floats!

This is the last week for Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you have any concerns about your student, please reach out to their teacher to set up a conference.

This Friday is another Intervention Friday. School hours are 7:30-12:00. Please remember that the school does not open its doors until 7:30. Students who are dropped off before 7:30 will not have adult supervision. For our students' safety, please have them remain in your vehicle at parent drop-off until an adult comes outside at 7:30 to welcome them.

If your student rides the bus home on Intervention Friday, someone must be home to welcome them. The bus will not drop off students if nobody else is home.

Flu Season is Here!

The peak of the cold and flu season is upon us. To prevent widespread flu in the school, we recommend that your child stay home from school if experiencing flu or cold symptoms.

To decide whether or not to send your child to school, please consider the following guidelines:

Monitor your child for any of the following symptoms:

  • Very stuffy or runny nose and/or cough

  • Mild sore throat (no fever, no known exposure to strep)

  • Headache

  • Mild stomach ache

Definitely keep your child at home for treatment and observation if they have any of these symptoms:

  • Fever (greater than 100 degrees by mouth--your child may return to school only after their temperature has been consistently below 100 degrees by mouth for a minimum of 24 hours without the use of medication)

  • Vomiting (even once)

  • Diarrhea

  • Chills and

fatigue with discomfort, weakness, or muscle aches

  • Frequent congested (wet) or croupy cough

To help prevent the flu and other colds, teach your children good hygiene habits:

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and use hand sanitizer when they do not have access to a sink to wash their hands

  • Do not touch eyes, nose, or mouth

  • Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing

  • Use a tissue to blow their nose followed by washing hands after throwing it away

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Colds are the most contagious during the first 48 hours. A child who has a fever should remain at home until "fever free" for a minimum of 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.

Star Students and Faculty

We love celebrating all of our students and staff who go above and beyond to set and uphold the Cadet Standard every single week!
