Connally Junior High Social Studies Students Visit the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum
On Thursday, February 6, a select group of our Connally Junior High Social Studies students from each grade level had the opportunity to visit the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. This powerful and immersive museum is dedicated to educating visitors about the history of the Holocaust, the fight for human rights, and the importance of standing against injustice. Through interactive exhibits, historical artifacts, and survivor testimonies, students were able to engage deeply with the lessons of history and reflect on the impact of past events on our world today.
The museum is known for its structured environment and high expectations for visitors, and we are proud to share that our students represented Connally Junior High with respect and maturity. Museum staff even noted what a great group of students we had, reinforcing the outstanding character and behavior of our Cadets.
During their visit, students explored exhibits that detailed the experiences of Holocaust survivors, learned about the dangers of discrimination and intolerance, and participated in discussions on how to be upstanders in their communities. This eye-opening experience provided a meaningful extension of their classroom learning and helped them connect history to real-world applications.
We are grateful for the opportunity to provide meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom and appreciate the support of our teachers and families in making this trip possible.
