Principal's Update

Hello,

We had a great first week of February! We are a few weeks away from the end of the grading period. Please continue to encourage students to work hard and be at school each day.

We are constantly looking for ways to create parent engagement opportunities in our school. By fostering strong partnerships, we aim to support student success and build a collaborative school community.

Valentine parties will be on February 13th. Each student is allowed up to 2 guests to attend. Teachers will communicate the times of the party.

Bowser's Brawlers Gaming club- We are sending permission slips and information about the after school gaming club that we are starting this semester. Students will need permission slips signed by the end of the day on February 13th. You can also complete the permission slip via google form with the link below.

This is a free club for students. At this time, only 20-30 students will be selected to participate. These students will be selected by the gaming club coaches.

The games that will be played are "Super Smash Bros" and "Mario Kart" on the Nintendo Switch.

Spotlight:

Mr. Platt's GT students were up and down the hallways with the Sphero Rvr cars that are programmed by the students with their Chromebooks.

They also spent the morning doing mind missions. In mind missions the students read about something historical. In this lesson, they read about famous bridges. Then the students are given various materials and a task to complete. The students had to build a bridge between two desks. They were judged on length and beauty of the bridge.
