Connally Independent School District

Connally Elementary School Update

Week of 10/7/2024 - 10/11/2024

Mrs. Redden's Update

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you to those who came to our Eureka Math Information Night! We had great conversations and our teachers did a great job of sharing what a 4th grade/5th grade math lesson may look like. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child's Math teacher for more information. Teachers will also be sharing Tip Sheets through Rooms for you to use at home.

Our Music teacher, Ms. Holmes, has announced dates for the 4th grade and 5th grade choir concerts. Our 5th grade concert will be the evening of October 29th, and our 4th grade concert will be the evening of December 17th. Both concerts will take place at the Connally High School Auditorium. More information will be coming soon. We hope to see you there!

As a reminder, student cell phones must be turned off and in backpacks during the school day. Students should not keep their phones in the pocket at any time. This includes lunch, recess, and any other time during the day

Attendance is a concern. Thank you for making sure your child is at school each day they are not sick. If your child is sick or misses a day of school, please be sure to send in an excuse as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

Title 1 Resources

CES School Parent Compact

CES Title 1 School Wide Plan

Please review our Title 1 parent documents listed above. We will have more information at our first family night on October 22nd. We will have another meeting on October 24th at 8:30 in the library if you are unable to attend October 22nd to review the Title 1 parent information. In the meantime, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out at kredden@connally.org.

Bullying Information

Bullying is not tolerated at CES. If your child comes home and says they are being bullied, or someone else is being bullied, please contact us so we can investigate. It is important that all students feel safe in their classrooms and around the campus so they can learn without distractions. We have had lessons with students already this year on what bullying is and what it is not, and what to do if someone is being bullied.

If you are unsure if a situation is bullying, or you would like to see what we use at school to determine bullying, please visit the following link for more information: Grades 3-5: https://txssc.txstate.edu/videos/prevent-bullying-3-5/

With the addition of David's Law several year ago, school districts are able to investigate bullying situations to include cyberbullying, whether it is done on campus or off campus if it is affecting a student's learning environment at school.
