Dear Parents,

Our last week of school for this school year as arrived! It always seems like it has gone by so quickly. This week we look forward to celebrating our kindergarten students at Kindergarten Graduation on Thursday, May 22nd. The first ceremony will be held at 9:00 am in the CHS auditorium and the second ceremony will be held at 10:30 am in the CHS auditorium. This is always a special time for the children so we hope to see everyone there on Thursday! Students will be dismissed from the CHS gymnasium after graduation, if you plan to take your child home that day.

Our last day of school is Friday, May 23rd. This day is an early release day. CECC students will dismiss at 11:30 am. We will send them off with big hugs, knowing that they are well prepared for the next grade level!

Keep reading and writing at home this summer! This will be important to do between now and when the kids start back to school in August! They have made so much progress this year, and allowing them opportunities to read and write at home will help them to continue to grow and not lose ground during the summer months!

This week we would like to recognize our wonderful speech pathologist, Mrs. Blanche Bourdreaux. Sunday, May 18th was National Speech Pathologist Day but we will be celebrating her on Monday, May 19th at school! Mrs. Boudreaux does an excellent job serving students on her caseload. We are so thankful for her!

With a valid ID, parents are welcome to join their child for lunch based on the alpha of their last name!

The best way to get your child off to a great start is to make a commitment to have them at school every day. Good attendance is a strong predictor of future academic success. We are busy every minutes of the day in Pre-K and Kindergarten with learning and we do not want your child to miss out on anything!
