Connally Early Childhood Center Update

Week of 11/18/2024 - 11/22/2024

Principal's Update:

Good Afternoon,

This past week we enjoyed our annual Thanksgiving lunch with families. It is always wonderful to have our families in the building! Moms and dads will have another opportunity in December to visit school. We invite all families to attend the kindergarten Christmas program on Thursday, Dec. 5th in the Connally High School auditorium as well as our annual Christmas-themed Literacy night that same evening from 6:30-7:30 in the CECC lunchroom. We are expecting a visit from the big guy himself that evening, Santa Claus!

Before we get to the end of December, our students have a lot of learning yet to do! Our kindergarten students are continuing their work to become readers and writers. You can help this process by reading with your child at home and giving them lots of opportunities to write at home as well! Pre-K students are working on learning all uppercase, lowercase letters and sounds as well as identifying numbers and counting. All of these skills can be practiced at home too!

Don't forget that our Book Fair is still open this week. You may visit between 7:30 am -3:30 pm Monday and Tuesday, or before 10:00am on Wednesday.

Our annual Food Drive starts today as well. The food collected goes directly back to help families in need in our Connally community. We will have a little friendly competition between classes to see which class can collect the most donations!

Have a wonderful week.

Attendance

The best way to get your child off to a great start is to make a commitment to have them at school every day. Good attendance is a strong predictor of future academic success. We are busy every minutes of the day in Pre-K and Kindergarten with learning and we do not want your child to miss out on anything!
