Welcome Back, CECC Families!
We are very excited to have your sweet children back in our building today! We hope every family enjoyed time together and refreshment during the holiday break!
Beginning next week we will start assessing pre-k and kindergarten students to determine how much academic growth they have made since the start of school. This is always an exciting time as see where each students stands and celebrate their growth. That being said, we encourage you to send your students to school every day so that they do not miss important instruction or assessments!
Teachers do a lot of communication through the Rooms app. This is an easy way to send messages to your child's teacher. They also use this app to send out newsletters and other important reminders. If you need help getting set up in Rooms, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Have a wonderful week!
Mrs. Bowling, Principal
This month's guidance lesson is all about Perseverance. One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.” We all experience challenges in our lives. We all have moments when we feel like we can’t do it or that we want to give up on a big task. It is important for students to develop tools that help them work through those challenges in order to grow in those moments instead of giving up. Here are some ideas of how you can practice perseverance this month as a family:
1. Have each person in the family commit to 1 thing they will do each day this week. Maybe it is flossing, drinking a certain amount of water, getting to bed at a certain time, limiting screen time, or exercising. Create a place where each person can tally their progress and see who can keep their streak going the longest!
2. Share a story with your child about a time you practiced perseverance to meet a goal. Modeling perseverance is a great way to inspire your child to do the same!
Story Prompts:
● A time I (or someone else) showed Perseverance was _____.
● An act of Perseverance that changed/challenged me was _____.
